Painted by Irwin Bevan for Lieutenant C R L Argles RN, 4th hand in HMS PORPOISE 1932-34; thence by descent to his son, Captain C S Argles RN.  Irwin Bevan was related by marriage to W L Wyllie and the two artists worked together on many commissions in the 1912-20 era.
