Commander Eric Tufnell RN (1888-1979) - Maritime Originals for Sale
I have (May 2019) over 50 original watercolours by Commander Eric Tufnell RN and there are about 100 reproductions available too, the original having already sold (see www.maritimeprints.com). THE LIST IS CONSTANTLY CHANGING as some are sold and are replaced by others so PLEASE ASK if you are hunting for a particular ship whose name does not appear either below or in the section in Maritime Prints.
Most of the watercolours are listed below and Tuffy's pictures are already well known in nautical circles. Unless stated (with first commissioning date in brackets), the paintings are of ships bearing that name in WW2 times. They are listed here alphabetically, are all signed by Tufnell & many are also inscribed by him. Most measure 20 x 28 cms approx (8 x 11 ins); one or two are a bit larger. These originals - which are with very few exceptions in excellent condition & clean, unspotted, bright & unfaded - are on artist's board & are unframed or mounted (probably the reason they are unfaded). They are £200 - £350 (including VAT) depending on the particular ship concerned (packing/postage is typically around £8 for UK Mainland addresses; but because they are not large they are very mailable all over the world).
